Wherefore it came to pass that my father, Lehi, as he went forth prayed unto the Lord, yea, even with all his heart, in behalf of his people.
It wasn’t long before Dad started to get worried too. He saw all the corrupt temple priests and Sodom & Gomorrah-like activities going on, and knew Jerusalem wasn’t long for the atlas. This wasn’t a pleasant thought for any of us. The Capital City was our home and we had a LOT of friends in the area. (What can I say, we were a charismatic bunch.) One morning, on the way back from taking the camels to the vet, Dad decided to pray. This wasn’t an ordinary, three-second-blessing-on-the-food prayer. Dad really pleaded for his fellow-Jews. Although what happened next was completely awesome, it marks the beginning of our familial tension. Nothing like a vision of destruction to incite a heated family feud. Especially when a few of the members happen to sympathize with the Jerusalemite reprobates.
